Nickel-Cadmium Battery is a kind of rechargeable battery that uses nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium as electrodes. Although it costs higher than sealed lead acid battery (SLA), Ni-Cd batteries offer good cycle life and capacity and work well at high discharges rates. Industrial or large ventilated wet cell NiCd batteries are widely used in emergency lighting, standby power, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and other applications.
